How much does a website cost? There is no simple answer to this question because every website is different and there are many different approaches to website design. That having been said, website cost is measurable and definable, but first needs to be scoped out and understood. We view website design & development as a project – that means it needs to be rationalised and mapped out. The budget is part of the project and creates a foundation of capacity, which helps us to guide our clients towards appropriate choices and objectives – for their budget.
What do we think?
We think it is very important for our clients to understand and be satisfied with the costs associated with their web design project.
Creating a website can be done for free – you can do it yourself! However, this will take time, and involves specialised work. There are numerous aspects to website development that need to be done correctly – both from a functionality and a brand perspective. For a business owner, taking on the responsibility of designing and establishing your own website is like choosing to save money by doing all of your own vehicle maintenance duties. You may be better off visiting a mechanic – you’re paying for experience, but it is worth the money. Otherwise, the problems that you discover are often ones you wish you had avoided altogether (for example, that your brakes are no longer working). We often work with our clients to undo or redesign work and decisions that have been made without professional experience.
Websites are not “set and forget”. The internet is always evolving. Technology changes. Competitors are arriving and adapting. Industries grow. We think it’s important for our clients to have access to website expertise. That’s why we support them with a reliable, Australian-based service.
